Using multi-objective classification to model communities of soil microarthropods

چکیده
In agricultural soil, a suite of anthropogenic events shape the ecosystem processes and populations. However, the impact from anthropogenic sources on the soil environment is almost exclusively assessed for chemicals, although other factors like crop and tillage practices have an important impact as well. Thus, the farming system as a whole should be evaluated and ranked according to its environmental benefits and impacts. Our starting point is a data set describing agricultural events and soil biological parameters. Using machine learning methods for inducing regression and model trees, we produce empirical models able to predict the soil quality from agricultural measures in terms of quantities describing the soil microarthropod community. We are also interested in discovering additional higher level knowledge. In particular, we have identified the most important f a t ©

Using Machine Learning to Predict the Impact of Agricultural Factors on Communities of Soil Microarthropods
With the newly arisen ecological awareness in the agriculture the sustainable use and development of the land is getting more important. With the sustainable use of soil in mind, we are developing a decision support system that helps making decisions on managing agricultural systems and is able to handle both conventional and genetically modified crops as a part of the ECOGEN project. The decis...
متن کاملIndirect Short- and Long-Term Effects of Aboveground Invertebrate and Vertebrate Herbivores on Soil Microarthropod Communities
Recognition is growing that besides ungulates, small vertebrate and invertebrate herbivores are important drivers of grassland functioning. Even though soil microarthropods play key roles in several soil processes, effects of herbivores-especially those of smaller body size-on their communities are not well understood. Therefore, we progressively excluded large, medium and small vertebrate and ...
متن کاملMulti-Criteria Evaluation Model for Desertification Hazard Zonation mapping Using GIS (Study Area: Trouti Watershed, Golestan, Iran)
Desertification is one of the major issues threatening human communities. Manymethods have been developed for assessment and mapping of desertification hazards. In thisresearch, multi-criteria evaluation method was used to investigate desertification process inTrouti watershed, Golestan Province, Iran. At the first step, major desertification factors weredetermined by doing field surveys. They ...

In order to classify and determine the plant communities in Karkas mountainsides, central Iran, quantitative data of 46 environmental characteristics including climate (12 characteristics), soil (26 characteristics), geology and physiology (8 characteristics), were analyzed based on partial Euclidean distance indicator using minimum variation method. The results showed the clustered separation ...
متن کاملMULTI-OBJECTIVE OPTIMAL DESIGN OF SATMD INCLUDING SOIL-STRUCTURE INTERACTION USING NSGA-II
In this paper, a procedure has been introduced to the multi-objective optimal design of semi-active tuned mass dampers (SATMDs) with variable stiffness for nonlinear structures considering soil-structure interaction under multiple earthquakes. Three bi-objective optimization problems have been defined by considering the mean of maximum inter-story drift as safety criterion of structural compone...
